It all started in 2009 in Buenos Aires
Hola Tango friends & colleagues, my name is Ofer Valencio Akerman. I am the founder of TangoPartner.com. You can read a bit more about me, my journey and why I love this project so much below.
I started the original TangoPartner.com in 2009 while in Buenos Aires. But it was not before 2020 that I chose to follow my passion again and give back to the community that gave me so much.
The decision changed everything…
It was an overnight decision to leave everything behind in New-York City and move south to Buenos Aires. Just a couple of weeks earlier, I was still considered one of the top Cyber Security Experts; I still had my fancy office at the heart of Wall Street and my beautiful apartment at the Upper Eastside. But then the market collapse…..
I lost a lot of money, but I got to follow my Tango passion to Buenos Aires, something that would be considered unthinkable while the money machine was still working. (Don’t worry, I made money again::))
The turning point
Buenos Aires was a turning point. The people I met through Tango helped me experience moments, connections, and sensations that forever changed my life. Some are still among my very best friends.
But exactly when I started to tune in to the music and fall in love with Buenos Aires, I got a call from Berlin. It wasn’t a long one: “… Is it Mr Akerman? Yes… Your skills are needed ASAP. Where should we send the tickets to?”… And yes I am still here, in Berlin, Germany.
I dance the Tango for over 10 years, but I am not a professional. I am just a basic dancer that always listens to the music and feel the melody. I love the overall sensation of the Milonga, the wine, the food and most of all – the fantastic Tango people.
The boring stuff…
My day job is not as challenging as dancing a Piazzolla Tanda. I help people turn passion into profitability, obtain a winning narrative, and secure bootstrap funding. I hold a master’s degree in military strategies, a BA in finance, and advanced wine and olive oil certifications. If you want more of this boring stuff, just google my name. But for now, I just wanted to thank you for being a part of this inspiring journey.
Un Abrazo
Ofer Valencio Akerman
