Sebastián Acosta & Laura D’Anna – Argentina
“Be better than last year, last month, yesterday” – Our philosophy is, tango is about being the best – not just when you compete, perform or teach, but also in being the best version of yourself. When we became partners what we had in common was our love of traditional tango. We shared a passion for learning with the old milongueros (or people who studied with them) to discover how tango began. We then put something else in, our own style, own personality, but without losing the essence of what tango is for us.
Sebastian comes from a salon background (he is the 2014 world tango Champion in Tango Pista) and Laura from a stage background, so we created a product that mixes both styles. People describe our way of dancing as elegant, graceful and powerful, traditional but with modern elements at the same time. Since we dance and work together, we have taught in Mario Morales studio, Escuela Argentina de Tango and Escuela de Tango de Buenos Aires and have done tours in Europe, Asia, Central America and United States. We also organize a weekly milonga in Seoul. We were judges in the preliminaries of the World Tango Championship, and in addition to the title of world champion in Tango Pista of Sebastián, together we have been finalists in our first and only participation in the World Tango Championship, stage category.

Fernando Robles – USA
Tango music touches your heart and soul in many different ways. When you hear the music your brain generates emotions and reactions that make your body move and dance. Dancers focus sometimes on the melody or rhythm or perhaps the lyrics or the bandoneon solo as cues to expression in the dance. My intent as a DJ is to create a stream of emotions that range from joy to passion through my music selections. I pay attention to how dancers embrace, look at each other, their posture and harmonious moves to the tango being played to find the music that keeps that energy alive. It is a wonderful experience to watch this energy play out in milongas.
I learned to appreciate tango dance and music under the late master teacher Pablo Fontana in Washington, D.C starting in 2006. He inspired me to develop an appreciation of the music and gave me my first serious collection of Argentine tango music. I am now based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I DJ mostly in Albuquerque and Santa Fe, New Mexico and also in major tango festivals in the US including Valentango, Burning Tango, LA Tango Summit and the San Miguel de Allende Tango Festival, Mexico.

For us Argentine Tango is not just a dance. It is the whole philosophy, the culture that allows to not only learn how to partner dance to any music, but also how to walk correctly, stand correctly, built spatial awareness, use flexibility and elasticity of your muscles, move to the music, gain perfect posture and perfect manner, interact with older and younger colleagues of any gender, clearly communicate your intention and read the intentions of others, work with the group as well as individually, respect the rules and learn when to break them by using cultural and emotional intelligence as well as forgotten skill of common sense.

I love dance and I dedicated a great part of my life to this form of artistic expression as I discovered the fascinating and wonderful Dance World at the early age of four. I embraced classical dance, for 16 years. After graduating The National Choreography High school in 1997 I danced for 2 years with Oleg Danovsky Classical and Contemporary Dance Theatre. After leaving the theatre I walked through lots of dance stiles: ballroom, contemporary dance, jazz dance, folklore, salsa, bachata but in the end my heart got stolen by Argentine Tango, 15 years ago and since then I try by best to harmonise my soul and my body with the beauty, the power, the mystery, the culture and the charm of this dance stile. Tango offered me in return for my passionate work the satisfaction that we artists dream of, the most notable events, among various performances being the semi-finals of The European Tango Championship, Rome 2012– Stage Tango and the finals of The TV contest Dancing Romania, Antena1 2013, the Final of the 2016 European Championship section Escenario and Semifinal section Salon and the First Place in UK Tango Championship 2017 which led to my participation in the World Tango Championship of 2017, an unique and unforgettable experience.

I developed the own tango fashion brand (EilaTan) and started to travel from event to event, enojing the possibility of work and joy. I met a lot of fantastic people, some of them became close friends. After a while I thought – why not to meet on the dance floor in Nuremberg, beautiful historical city, where I live? And I organised a marathon La Sorpresa, which became a big success. Looking forward to meet you somewhere and create and share beatiful energy on the dance floor!
